Absolutely not. Truman made the only decision that he could make at the time. The anti nuke people will say that it was cruel and should not have been perpetrated on a defeated enemy. However, conservative estimates of the invasion of Japan (Operation Olympic) felt that perhaps the U.S. would have had over 1,000,000 casualties and that the Japanese would have been virtually wiped out.
BTW, our nuclear power has also defeated the Soviet Union ( thanks to the late Ronald Reagan) without firing a shot.
