Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat condemned Sunday's Tel Aviv bomb explosion, accusing Israel of planning the attack. |
Arafat said that the attack was an act of provocation carried out by Israel following the ruling of the International Court of Justice in The Hague against the illegal Bank Wall cutting thru Palestine.
Arafat said: 'We are against such kinds of bombings, and you must never forget that the Israelis are completely behind it as they have been in the past.'
Speaking to reporters after meeting with UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Commissioner General Peter Hansen, Arafat added: 'You know who is behind these acts, which are aimed at harming the court decision. Europe knows it, the Americans, the Egyptians, the Jordanians, and the Israelis also know it.'
In another development, Hassan Abu Libdeh, the director of PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei s bureau, on Sunday described Foreign Minister Sylvan Shaloms statements to the effect that Israel would remove illegal occupation outposts in the West Bank as a 'big lie.'
Shalom said over the weekend that Israel plans to evacuate a number of random outposts as part of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's disengagement plan.
'This is a big lie that Israel has been using for a long time,' Abu Libdeh told Palestinian reporters. 'Israel has always talked about removing and evacuating Jewish outposts, but all we have seen is an expansion of the occupation.' |
