Dear Blaine,
I am not so sure that this was not, simply a publicity stunt on behalf of the Disney Corp. Okay, so they decided not to show the movie through one of their distribution arms, Miramax. They did however, make a point to the people that butter their bread, you know God Fearing patriotic American families that go to their movies, visit their parks, and buy their videos, that they would not support this venture.
However, The Disney Corporation of today is much different than in the past. While they would like to keep their family image, they have diversified into the smut as well as the political in order to make a percentage on every dollar.
They sponsor a "Gay Day" at their park in which families must endure men kissing each other while they wait in line for a stomach churning ride. One must ask: What's the point of throwing up before you ride the ride?
Anyway, Eisner is a genuis and figured out a way to profit from an Anti American movie while our troops are in harms way.
