Dear Anna Epelbaum,
You said you emigrated in 1989. I hope you are enjoying your freedom brought to you compliments of Ronald Reagan. Although, I cannot disagree with you that the Holy Father, did not also play a part. So did Lech Walesa and Ms. Thatcher.
Prior to your release from the shackles of communism, the liberals in our country were wetting their collective pants about how we should get along with the Soviet Union.
Infact,, the environmental movement, the anti-war protests, the nuclear freeze movement,
and the Green Party can trace their roots back to the Soviet Union who was funding this dissention.
The very people you fled are now the people you support today. Look it up, it is true.
Ronald Reagan did not say we should get along with communism. His very platform was to defeat it, and he did. He enlisted the support of Pope John Paul and Thatcher to get this done.
The radical left will say that the economic system simply colapsed while they aspire to install the same system here in the U.S. I see you are learning English. Good for you. Make sure you read some history during your studies.
I can suggest a few books if you would like.
The fact is, Ms. that in 1989, if you really lived in the communist block nations at the time, you had no idea of what was truly happening at the time.
You see, like the ucimc, the communist block controlled all press and thought. You could not possible know the what was done prior to the defeat of the communist block under the direction of Ronald Reagan because you were not free to read about the events of the day.
In closing, you came to America for Freedom, I suspect. Make the most of it. It is a wonderful country. Do not listen to those who would demean our system. It has produced the majority of the worlds innovations in the last 80 years.
People who are free and can benefit from their innovations will be the most they can be under our system. They will teach you to hate the rich, and to confiscate their dollars while at the same time prevent you from reaching your goals.
Best of Luck To You and Your Husband Wayne,
Regards,
Jack |
