What these soldiers did was stupid. It will only serve to unite the people that we are trying to help in a cause to defeat us. They should go to prison.
However, when are troops are captured and threatened with execution by setting them on fire, I find it interesting that you on the left protest not at all. I thought you were opposed to cruel and unusual punishment or is it just when it is the enemy or a serial killer?
