Tracy, thank you for acknowledging that we do, indeed, have a lot of bounty here in America and should be grateful for it.
As for 9-11, THEY struck us first! Why is it America's fault (as you seem to imply, correct me if I'm wrong) that 3,000 innocent people were killed that tragic day? That wasn't because of our foreign policy. It was because our attackers HATED us since we don't believe like them, don't bow to their god, have freedom, riches and bounty here in America unlike their homelands. (And that's not our fault. They bear responsibility for how their countries turn out. And what about all our foreign aid to so many countries. Doesn't that count for something?)
The hijackers and their supporters didn't come to America to reap the benefits of this country, nor to change it for the better (yes, there are things wrong here), but only to destroy it. Where's their "peace, love and tolerance" for OUR way of life?
There's a terrorist network originating from the Middle East that wants to destroy not only America but the Western world (i.e. recent train bombing in Madrid). If you didn't see that before 9-11 fine, but if you don't see that AFTER 9-11, than you need to look a lot more closely at the whole picture.
If you downplay terrorists' actions, or even toss them off as America's own fault, they'll love you for that! Don't side with the enemy that wants to bring harm to your own country (as they've already done).
Why is America, or war, or our own soldiers themselves -- young men and women giving their lives and limbs to protect us -- the enemy instead of the enemy itself? Give it some thought. |
