Nice pics, Ben. The AWARE float, featuring a tank taking aim at a schoolhouse, wasn't the only parade entry that drew double-takes from bystanders. Another was a gigantic tow truck with a little girl on the back shooting bystanders with a water gun, towing a military jeep with uniformed soldiers inside, and a banner across the vehicle's front that read "Owens Funeral Home Salutes the 92nd Airborne Division." Hard to believe that wasn't intentional irony. |
