The AWARE float, featuring a tank taking aim at a schoolhouse, wasn't the only ironic entry at today's Independence Day Parade in Urbana. The other was a gigantic tow truck with a little girl on the back shooting bystanders with a water gun, towing a military jeep with uniformed soldiers inside, and a banner across the vehicle's front that read "Owens Funeral Home Salutes the 92nd Airborne Division." Hard to believe that wasn't an anti-war statement. |
