There are real issues with the metal wire distribution grid that need to be overcome before the oft touted 'renewables' CAN be as effective as mooted.
These issues require the grid complexity produced effect levels of capacitivity and resistivity to be noted.
Replacing the metal wire distribution system with an optical distribution system using the technology of the data & communications 'optical fibre' would allow the power produced by WIND to be distributed with near NO loss.
Companies are going bankrupt as the USER only PAYS for that power they USE (and thus need to receive).
Australia, with only 20 MILLION people needs to produce 200 TRILLION Watt/hours, and has plans for the production of 300 TRILLION watt/hours.
This is mostly needed to overcome the inherit issues OF the 'metal wire grid' that INCREASE as the grid DENSITY and the distance OF such density from 'supply', increase.
