Students and community members plan to picket "Chief Illiniwek" at UI Men's Basketball game Tuesday to inform sports fans that they can support UI sports without supporting the "Chief." |

Everyone in the community is invited to attend the Anti-"Chief" Educational Picket, Tuesday, February 18th, from 5:15-6:15pm at the West Entrance to Assembly Hall. If you would like to be part of a carpool, either email prc (at) prairienet.org, or come to the Illinois Disciples Foundation (on the corner of Springfield and Wright) around 4:45pm. We will be distributing leaflets and engaging people in discussion (no attacking fans please!) about how they can support UI sports without supporting the racist mascot "Chief Illiniwek." |
