The African Anarchism web site, part of the struggle collection, has recently been expanded with a host of new material and a major redesign.

The African Anarchism web site gathers together information on the nascent Anarchist movements in Africa. We have information on anarchist groups from across the continent, from Nigeria, Uganda, Egypt and South Africa, to name but a few countries. We also have a collection of articles and personal accounts written by international anarchists about Africa.

We also host an email list, anarchy_africa, for discussions about anarchism in Africa and news from African anarchists. This list includes anarchists from all around Africa. To subscribe to this group simply send a mail, with any content, to:
anarchy_africa-subscribe (at) yahoogroups.com

Due to the growing volume of material on the site, and an increasing number of volunteers willing to do work for the site, we decided to undertake a major expansion and reorganisation of the site. The site has the following new sections:

* New home page, with a revised navigational plan

http://www.struggle.ws/africa/

* 5 new regional sites, covering Anarchism in East Africa, Anarchism in West Africa, anarchism in Central and southern africa, & anarchism in North African & the middle East. This regional sites contain original essays and provide indexes for anarchist material on the region.

* Issue number 1 (April 2001) of Zabalaza magazine, the latest anarchist publication from the African continent. This magazine is produced in South Africa in a joint initiative between Zabalaza books and Bikisha media collective. Issue 1 is at:
