Tuscola's Actors' Rural Theater Company presents a groundbreaking theater work Current rating: 0

Tuscola's Actors' Rural Theater Company presents the groundbreaking script, The Prompting Theater's The Phantom of the Opera
Ladies and Gentlemen!!!

The Actors' Rural Theater Company is proud to present:
The Prompting Theater's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!

This newly written musical is based closely on the book by Gaston Leroux. The script was written by the Prompting Theater, the C-U based theater company comprised of adults with developmental disabilities. The music was written by Brian Hagy.

The Phantom of the Opera follows the story of a young soprano, Christine (played by Rachel Ladd), who is caught between the romance of her childhood friend, Raoul (played by Brian Hagy), and her "Angel of Music," the Phantom (played by Michael Dwiggins). While she navigates through these turbulent waters, the new owner of the opera house (Breelyn Fae) have to deal with a diva soprano (Barbara Tetercyz), unnerving notes, and murder.

It is important to note that this production has some historical significance in the world of theater. This is the first full-length musical written by actors with developmental disabilities to be performed by a community theater troupe. So, this show marks a whole new direction for the Prompting Theater (besides the fact that this is also their first dramatic, non-comedic script).

To be clear: ARTCo is presenting and acting this production.
