IMC Building Manager Job Description
APPLICATIONS DUE: September 15, 2005

Time Commitment: 10 hrs/week on average
Pay: $600/month
Space: 202 South Broadway is a 30,000 square foot building in downtown Urbana; however, non-IMC building tenants are responsible for maintenance of their own spaces. Along with general building oversight, the IMC Property Manager will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining common areas and the IMC space.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- clean and maintain common areas, bathrooms, and IMC Space
- observe and coordinate correction of unsafe and/or potentially costly conditions needing repair by the Space Working Group
- coordinate building access by contractors and vendors
- be the main contact for tenants and handle rent issues
- clear ice and snow, oversee maintenance of exterior areas
- be the emergency contact point and available by cell phone
- proficiency with e-mail
- other tasks as assigned by the Space Working Group
The candidate should be someone who is a self-starter who takes initiative and will actively collaborate with the Space Working Group to implement policies and building maintenance. Many of the assigned tasks are routine and repetitive, but the candidate must be able to prioritize duties as needed on a day to day basis in order to maintain a safe and clean building.
Oversight: The IMC Property Manager is overseen by the Space Working Group or a specific subgroup specifically empowered by the Space Working Group. The Property Manager is expected to incorporate constructive input from IMC Staff and building tenants, but does not report to them.
