Just a quick note to remind or inform you that Monday the 10th is National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID 2003) and we really need you to show up if there's any way you can. It doesn't matter whether you have kids or not. We're all related! |
Hi Friends,
Monday the 10th is National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID 2003) and we really need you to show up if there's any way you can. It doesn't matter whether you have kids or not. We're all related!
Here's how:
1) Pick a school, any school, walk through the doors where you should be greeted and offered refreshments, tours or other activities. If you can't do anything but sign in to show you came. Do that.
2) If you can volunteer to do a presentation in a classroom, we still need volunteers. There are presentations already developed on Black scientists and inventors if you'd like.
3) You can come to the Black Family Reception and Resource Fair we have organized at Douglass Library from 4:30 -7:00 PM. Just come through and show your face.
Folks are making this happen all across the nation on Monday, let's get in step. Let's show ourselves, our kids, and the larger community we care about Black education.
Pass this on. Respond if you can.
Sincerely,
Imani Bazzell, NAAPID Coordinator |
