War & War Crimes & ICC, Oh My! Current rating: 0

A new documentary explores the Iraq War, War Crimes at Abu Ghraib & Guantanamo Bay, and the US exemption of the International Criminal Court.

Internationally Speaking Released Today!
Citizens of the World Address American and its Foreign Policy

Filmmaker Christine Rose enjoyed minor success with her first film Liberty Bound last year, but she believes her second political documentary Internationally Speaking will go even further.

"Why do they hate us? It's a question explored by every news organization from CNN to The Daily Show," says Rose, "Internationally Speaking goes right to the source to find the answer: the citizens of the world!"

Rose worked with her own 'Coalition of the Willing,' a group of filmmakers from 10 different countries including India, South Africa, Belgium, and Turkey. Talking with average citizens, as well as experts like Noam Chomsky & Michael Ratner, Rose gains insight to the sentiment of "anti-americanism" around the globe.

"We even talk to a man who's son was gunned down by US Forces in Iraq while waiting for a taxi," explains Rose "It's footage generously given to us by Occupation Watch courtesy of Medea Benjamin."

Christine Rose believes that Internationally Speaking will reach many more people in mainstream America than her first film.

"I believe Internationally Speaking will reach a broader audience because of its diversity and information. Seeing people as people is what keeps the Reality TV industry alive - and that's what Internationally Speaking delivers: real people giving real opinions and insight."

Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights, Noam Chomsky, and Medea Benjamin talk about the Wars in Afghanistan & Iraq, the alleged War Crimes committed by US troops and the Bush Administration, and the US's exemption from the International Criminal Court.

Rose claims the greatest challenge to an independent filmmaker is promotion and distribution.

"I found that with my first film that if people heard about it, they wanted to see it. Once they saw it, they generally liked it. The trick is getting it into the audiences' consciousness or path of vision." says Rose.

Internationally speaking, Christine Rose sets her sights high and she doesn't disappoint.

The Internationally Speaking DVD is officially released today, August 22th.
