These are some urls for proposals that were presented at the Press Freedom Conference in San Francisco, April 27-29. About 70 people from many IMCs in the US and elsewhere attended. |
IMC Network Proposals from Discussions at Press Freedom Conference
(San Francisco, April 27-29, 2001)
On April 27-29, many people from IMCs around the US and the world gathered in San Francisco to discuss the future of the IMC network and to attempt to frame proposals for the network as a whole to guide its future decision-making in areas of common concern. This was necessitated by the urgent need to address a variety of issues that had been until that time deferred, such as how to facilitate the addition of new IMCs to the network.
These are urls for the texts of various proposals, with revisions made based on input from people at the San Francisco conference, as submitted to various lists whose archives are located at:
lists.indymedia.org.
Unfortunately, there is no one place that has a comprehensive listing of these proposals. And this is especially problematic, as we want to get feedback from everyone who might take an interest in guiding the future development of the IMC network. Accordingly, as an effort to rectify this situation, I'm taking the liberty of gathering some of these revised proposals here. Please send mail to:
