A roughcut of a documentary-in-progress about argentina.indymedia.org is among the films being shown at the Lost Film Festival (lostfilmfest.com) at Illinois State University in Normal on Tuesday, November 12 at 7pm in Center for Visual Arts (CVA) 151. Admission is $5.
The Lost Film Festival, an evening of independent short films, is hosted by Festival Director and co-founder Scott Beibin who runs the punk music label Bloodlink Records, and is a Co-Producer of the film Godass (dir. Esther Bell), winner of 'Best Feature' New York Underground Film Festival 2000 and Chicago Underground Film Festival 2000. With 10 years in the business of independently produced music and film, Beibin intersperses the program of shorts with shared tales and anecdotes about the films and filmmakers.
Among the films being shown is 'Sean Connery Golf Project,' the infamous and controversial documentary film, subject of a current lawsuit, in which two filmmakers infiltrate Sony Pictures studios, steal a screenplay, rewrite it, and return it as a better script. Other films include 'The Horribly Stupid Stunt Which Has Resulted In His Untimely Death,' 'The LEGO Trilogy,' 'Punk Rock Archives: Social Distortion,' and 'Crowd Bites Wolf,' a film featuring protest footage censored by the mainstream press of The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund protests in Prague during late September 2000.
Free parking available behind the Normal theater in downtown Normal (walk 3 blocks west, 1 block south to the circular CVA building).
