AFSCME Council 31 and AFSCME Local 900 announced their endorsements today for County Clerk. Becky Duffield, President of Local 900 said, "We are pleased to announce our support for Paul Faraci for County Clerk. We believe Paul Faraci will make an excellent County Clerk and put a stop to the gamesmanship currently being displayed by the current County Clerk. Faraci understands the importance of the County Clerks office and will work to open up the voter registration process and encourage people to participate in this great democracy."
Duffield went on to say, "Paul Faraci realizes in order to have good government you need to retain good employees to conduct the County's business. He agrees that the employees have to be made a top priority in the budget process. He is committed to work with the County Board to make that happen." Duffield concluded her comments by saying, "We encourage all Union members to support Paul Faraci for County Clerk."
Jerry L. Wright, Staff Representative with AFSCME Council 31 announced the AFSCME endorsements for County Board. They are as follows:
District 2, Michael W. Frerichs and Louie Smith;
District 3, Chuck Nerone;
District 5, LaShunda Hambrick, Lloyd Carter, Lorraine Cowart;
District 6, Tony Fabri and Patricia Avery;
District 7, Janet Anderson, Nancy Greenwalt and Steven Shoemaker;
District 8, Ralph Langenheim, Jennifer K. Putman and Tom Betz;
District 9, Bob Kirchner, Barbara Wysocki and Steve Beckett.
Wright said, "It is clear to us that the Democrats have shown themselves to be more worker friendly than the previous Republican County Board. At least now we can have open dialog with County officials and attempt to work out our problems without resorting to confrontational tactics. We believe a great deal more progress can be made in county government by expanding the Democratic majority on the County Board and we will work to ensure that happens." |
