*** PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY, AND QUICKLY! ***
IMMEDIATE ACTION ALERT ON IRAQ
from PROGRESSIVE PORTAL
and GLOBAL EXCHANGE
Anti-war citizens and activists have just a couple of days to influence the outcome of the Congressional debate about Iraq. Congress is expected to pass a resolution next week ... and there is already evidence that a strong outpouring of anti-war sentiment is having an impact, as members of Congress from both parties express skepticism about the broad war mandate sought by the White House.
Please take a minute right now to do the following:
(1) First, visit the Progressive Portal letter-writing page at:
http://www.progressiveportal.org/letters/global/iraq/indy.html
In less than a minute you can send a message to Congressional leaders and members of the foreign affairs committees.
(2) Second, pass this alert along to your contacts.
(3) Third, display your opposition to war with peace flags, U.N. flags, Earth flags, anti-war posters, and other items. Proceeds make the work of Progressive Portal possible. See:
http://www.progressiveportal.org/resources/flags.html
(4) Fourth, for more information, visit the Iraq campaign section of the Global Exchange Web site, and see the Iraq information links on Progressive Portal's links page.

Time is short -- please act today if you can!

Please, no more war. We have one going now and don't seem to be making much progress-why would we be more successful fighting in Iraq? Does might always make right? Why do so few governments aroung the world support the US in this scheme-what do we know that they don't? What do we really know? for a fact? Seems information is being revealed piece meal, like if this info doesn't get the country upset enought to back Bush they'll feed us a few more tidbits and hopefully we will have our fill and agree to violence. Instead of pouring $s into another war effort why not do some real good and help our seniors, the homeless, victims of domestic violence, education etc. I fear continued violence around the globe and pray the US will not continue the cycle. |
