On today's mediageek we'll hear from John Anderson of the Madison IMC who'll talk about the preparations they've made to cover the US Conference of Mayors which is being held in there this weekend. The mediageek radio show airs 5:30 PM Fridays on WEFT 90.1 FM. |
Madison is the smallest city ever to host the US Conference of Mayors. Activists and citizens from all over are descending upon the Wisconsin Capital to demonstrate for livable cities that aren't turned into chain-store themeparks.
The Madison IMC has put in a year of planning to cover this important event and report live and direct from the streets of the city. Already sections of downtown Madison have been barricaded by the police. The capitol building and some University of Wisconsin buildings -- including the Student Unions -- are closed to the public this weekend.
Listen to a report direct from the Madison IMC's temporary space about what's going on there on today's mediageek -- 5:30 PM Fridays on community radio WEFT 90.1 FM.
