The Saga Continues With Doctor Solis Jordan Hermes Ayala, Redactor, El Vocero
Marta Gonzalez, the wife of Jose Solis Jordan, has not heard or known anything about her husband for exactly one week. Yesterday she had to settle for leaving a recorded message at the federal jail in Atlanta.
Yesterday, Gonzalez spoke with the penitentiary where an official confirmed that her husband was there and after she questioned why the lack of communication with her husband, he referred her to another extension where she was only able to leave another recorded message. "The only thing I have been able to do is to call Atlanta and leave a message relating my concern", Gonzalez indicated.
Her husband who is serving 51 months seditious conspiracy, was supposed to arrive in Puerto Rico last Tuesday, May 21, 2002, to finish his sentence at the federal prison in Guaynabo and later at a half-way house where he would stay while working during the day on his way to adjusting again to society. On November 22, 2002 his sentence would be completed.
However, Solis Jordan continues en-route and his wife and family do not know what else to do or believe. "They assured me that he was in Atlanta, but until I can speak with him ...after all that has happened, you never know what could happen. You don't want to exaggerate or be pessimistic ... I have a lot of faith but the truth is that this federal government has been very unjust. It is they themselves that are creating the doubts and worries. What won't they let him call me?", indicated Gonzalez.
Gonzalez indicated that when she spoke with Atlanta she left the numbers of her home and her cell phone, but until this time neither phone has rung with any good news. The lawyer in the case, Linda Backiel, has also tried to communicate with her client but her efforts have failed.
"She doesn't know anything either, but the level of isolation they have him in seems to be total", was stated by Solis Jordan's wife. She has no choice but to wait and with each passing day, the time seems even longer and longer." The concern and worry of the family continues. I just want him to be able to call, because I don't even know if he has access to his personal things." Marta Gonzalez said and she was notably distressed. |

Jose Solis in Puerto Rico Now |

Hello folks, just a tad of news:
My dad, José Solis Jordán, is now located in Puerto Rico at the Federal Penitentiary in Guaynabo. He has been moved around in a not-so-chevrolet see the usa tour from prison hole to hole.
Nevertheless, he is now "home" to a certain extent and will be released to half way home status on 23 July 2002. He will finish out his sentence in November of this year.
Communication with dad still remains sketchy at best since the Federal "Facility" where he is located is run by incompetency and has a high percentage of prisoners serving equally unjust sentences for protesting the illegal and inhuman use of our tiny island of Vieques as a bombing range by the Navy. His next allowed family visit will be 12 July 2002.
Thanks for your support!
