Part I talks about the past.
Part II talks about the present.
Part III talks about the future including specific proposals that the entire Zapatista community has reached consensus on. These proposals outline a plan by which the Zapatistas will take their actions out of the Lacondona Jungle and onto the world stage. Among the proposals is a call for a new Global Encuentro, a gathering of anti-neoliberal leftist activists from all over the world. The first two Global Encuentros in the late
'90s are often cited as one of the major catalysts of the Seattle WTO protest and the genesis of the Indymedia movement.
These documents are very long but I highly recommend reading them in their entirety, they are inspiring, funny, and energizing. |
