We received several bookcases, interesting desks, several lamps and many books and other media. The window wall trim in the media production center was painted a loud shade of purple and the back hall (available for a suitable donation to be named in memory of that special revolutionary of yours- just kidding(?)- sorta like how all those big stadiums have sponsors;>) was organized, cleaned up and mopped.
Our remaining needs that are especially acute are chairs. Maybe if everyone brought just one from home or we offered a chance to put a brass plate (remembering the donor) on a comfy, IMC-standard chair we could get a bunch in short order?
In any case, when I left at 6pm, it looked like the day was a great success. Thanks to all who volunteered or contributed. If you still have suitable items to donate, we would still be glad to have them. We will be working at the IMC, 218 W. Main in Urbana, this Saturday, Jan. 13, from noon to at least 5-ish. You will also find us there at noon Sunday for our regular weekly meeting. Arrangements can also be made to pick up large or heavy items.
