Ahmed should definitely seek protection from his consulates.
They will be in the best position to stick up for him--but only if they know what is going on! That is where you are
all so important.
One thing to consider is these agents are likely carrying out a routine search. The INS suits have been investigating everyone with a middle eastern visa since 9/11 and have probably just gotten around to Ahmed's name on the list. With so many supporters they wouldn't dare treat him wrong.

At the end of last year a friend contacted me who was taking a course titled “Politics of the Middle East” at Diablo Valley College, a small community college located in northern California.
