MMM Cannabis Liberation Day Worldwide is the top feature on the top page of Italy Indymedia! They must have an old MMM city list, though.

Sabato 4 Maggio, il movimento antiproibizionista scende in piazza a Roma e in 145 città nel mondo, per chiedere la liberalizzazione della
cannabis e il riconoscimento del diritto all' uso ludico e
terapeutico. Le voci favorevoli alla legalizzazione sono sempre di più. E sempre di più appare positivo l' esperimento dell’Olanda, che dal 1976 ha depenalizzato l'’uso di hascisc e marijuana. Tanto che alcuni Paesi, come l'’Inghilterra, stanno rivedendo le loro politiche
proibizioniste, almeno per l' introduzione della Canapa Medica. In
Lombardia è stato per ora concesso l' uso terapeutico. Ma il governo
italiano - alleato naturale del mondo affaristico di alcune comunità
terapeutiche - preferisce invece nascondere la testa sotto la sabbia
e intraprendere la raffinata strategia della tolleranza zero, copiata
dagli Usa: la distinzione tra droghe 'leggere' e 'pesanti' è stata
formalmente abolita, e di conseguenza vanno anche i provvedimenti
penali. I poteri forti usano il proibizionismo come strumento di
emarginazione, criminalizzazione e controllo sociale. La battaglia
per la liberalizzazione della cannabis è dunque una lotta per l'
affermazione della libertà personale, per l' emancipazione dal giogo
delle narcomafie, per rivendicare il diritto alla coltivazione e al
consumo di un prodotto di qualità controllata. Molte sono le
iniziative che si stanno preparando in Italia per parlare di
antiproibizionismo e di sostanze: A Genova il 18 MaggioMDMA organizza
MOVIMENTI ANTIPROIBIZIONISTI, un incontro conferenza su
antiproibizionismo e riduzione del danno. A Bologna il 29 Giugno
scenderà in strada la Street Rave Parade Antiproibizionista con
partecipanti da tutta la penisola.
