All You Need to Know About the Festival del Pueblo
With only three weeks remaining until the Festival del Pueblo, we are sending this mailing as a last call to all of you from other cities who are coming, or thinking of coming. The following is the finalized schedule of events, addresses and numbers of importance, and other such relevant
information.
We would also like to take this opportunity to urge as many of you as possible to come to Boston for this event. It is truly a large undertaking that we have embarked upon and it can only succeed with your help. Our
numbers will be critical to the success of the Festival.
We again would like to remind everyone that if you need housing, you need to register NOW as the deadline is April 20th. Afterwards, we are no longer responsible for your housing situation. You can register by filling out the
registration form at www.festivaldelpueblo.org or by emailing fdphousing (at) hotmail.com Do not forget to include name, number of people, and dates you need housing.

*WHEN YOU ARRIVE
If you need housing, would like a welcoming packet, or simply want to touch base with somebody when you arrive, please head to the welcoming center at Lucy Parsons bookstore. Located at 549 Columbus Avenue in Boston’s South End. If you are coming by T, exit at Mass Ave stop on the Orange line or Hynes on the Green Line. The welcoming center will be open from 9 am to 12 midnight on April 30th, and 9 am to 9 pm all subsequent days.
We highly suggest picking up a welcoming packet, as they will provide you with a detailed schedule of events, directions to all the venues, and lots of other useful information.
Tickets for the concerts can also be obtained at the Festival del Pueblo table at LPC. They are $8 for individual concerts or $25 for an all show pass. The ticket prices are directly in relation with the expenses of the Festival (bands, venues, food, you name it). In the unlikely case that there is a profit, it will most likely go to a future festival (if there is one), or to local radical and anti-authoritarian initiatives in the city of
Boston.
*CONVERGENCE CENTER
The Community Church of Boston will be acting as convergence center during the duration of the Festival del Pueblo. The church is conveniently located near Northeastern University, the Lucy Parsons Center, and the
Arlington street church. Food will be available here during the day.

This march is a festive event which includes thousands of families from the communities of Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, and Festival del Pueblo will simply be a contingent at this Wake Up The Earth event. Therefore, we ask that all participants help create a colorful and festive environment. This is the time for our clown suits and other creative and colorful disguises to come out of disuse! Also, the Wake Up the Earth organizers ask that all
banners or slogans at the parade be of a positive nature (ie- exemplify what we are for, rather than vilify what we are against.)

On May 5th those of us who are sick and tired of being cold all winter, of living on too little food, too much work and too little pay; of being harassed for being of color; those of us who are tired of struggling just to
survive will come together in Boston in a struggle to truly live! In this spirit, we come together for:
* Affordable Housing For All
* Universal Health Care For All
* Amnesty For All Immigrants
* the US Out of Latin America; Puerto Rican Independence; and an End to Plan Colombia
* An End to Police Brutality
* The Dismantlement of the Prison-Industrial Complex
* Women’s Reproductive Rights and An End to Sexism
* Sexual Liberation and An End to Homophobia and Transphobia
* A Sustainable Ecology; An End to the Poisoning Of Our Communities and the Earth
* Community Empowerment, Resistance, and Freedom
This demonstration and day of action will be an opportunity for all to express their anger at the conditions we are all forced to endure, using a
diversity of tactics. However, in the interest of ensuring the widest possible participation and respecting the safety and wishes of others, the day will be organized in a manner that allows for each individual or group to choose their level of risk and specific tactics. We also encourage
everyone to organize their own autonomous actions while in Boston. Contact
