Syracuse, NY, held a teach-in on March 31 that an overview of the FTAA and presentations from local community activists: Barrie Gewanter (Labor-Religion Coalition), Karen Kearney (local farmer), Carole Resnick (Developmental Evaluation Center, the health impacts of free trade on children), Don Hughes (ESF, on the environmental impacts), Howie Hawkins (Green Party, Free Trade and the local economy), and Tim Judson (Citizen Action Network).

Featuring Victor Menotti of the International Forum on Globalization on environmental impacts; Pierre Labossiere of the Bay Area Haitian-American Council on the impacts of corporate globalization on the Caribbean; Karega Hart of the Service Employees International Union and the Black Radical Congress on the impacts of corporate globalization on workers and African-Americans; and Antonia Juhasz of the International Forum on Globalization who speaks about the nuts and bolts of the FTAA.
