Moving US Jobs to Chinese Sweatshops
March 14, 2002
700 Maine shoe workers have recently lost their jobs.
Bjorn Clausen of the Bangor
Clean Clothes Campaign talks about how those jobs have been moved to China.
Chinese shoe workers only make about 3% of what former workers in Maine once
earned.
Also discussed are efforts to expose where and under what conditions our clothes
are made.
