The head of the National Association of Broadcasters is reported to now have a bodyguard. Wonder if he's worried
about pissed off low-power FM applicants? |
From Inside Radio, an industry fax rag that's part rumors and part golden nuggets:
"NAB'S Eddie Fritts now has a bodyguard. That's what sources close to the NAB say. This guard is present at all
Board meetings and reportedly sits by the door. He has been described as very serious, "doesn't smile." He's
been on board for about two years - reportedly also oversees headquarter building security - but his existence is
not commonly known outside the physical plant. Fritts' NAB bodyguard also reportedly travels with Fritts
wherever he goes. The idea of a bodyguard for Eddie Fritts could be seen as one of the perks of power. No
known threats have been made against the radio broadcasting's chief lobbyist." |
