Two Representative Johnsons have signed on for campaign finance reform, but NOT our Representative Tim Johnson. Call Tim and let him know that campaign finance reform is important to you and signing the discharge petition is necessary to obtain it against the entrenched power structure in Washington. Didn't he campaign on such promises?
It's time to live up to what you promised, Tim. And it only takes four more signatures to deliver. Make yours one of them. |
WASHINGTON - December 20 - Representatives Greg Ganske (R-IA) and Peter Visclosky (D-IN) signed the discharge petition today to schedule a vote on Shays-Meehan. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) signed earlier in the day.
218 signatures are needed to schedule a vote on the bill.
"The three signatures gained today signals a huge surge of momentum for the campaign finance reform fight," said Common Cause President Scott Harshbarger. "The stage is being set for this important pro-democracy bill to be voted on soon after Congress returns."
"Americans can thank Representatives Ganske, Visclosky and Johnson for living up to the highest ideals of this country," said Harshbarger.
