It just got a lot easier to make your voice heard on key issues in
Springfield and Washington! Through a new service provided by ISEN,
you can send a fax to your representatives just by clicking on a web link
provided in email alerts. The web link will automatically create a
customized fax from you to your representative. |
It just got a lot easier to make your voice heard on key issues in
Springfield and Washington! Through a new service provided by ISEN,
you can send a fax to your representatives just by clicking on a web link
provided in email alerts. The web link will automatically create a
customized fax from you to your representative.
This service, called I-ACT, has several advantages. First, it is very easy
to use, as you don't need to look up your Representative's contact info.
I-ACT will customize the message to your Representative for you. Second, it
allows you to send a fax even if you don't have a fax machine. Elected
Representatives pay much more attention to faxed letters than they do to
emails, and faxes are much faster than regular mail. Third, other environmental
organizations are using the same system, so we get a very powerful combined
punch that we could never achieve alone.
I-ACT is not a new organization. It is simply a new tool.
Your personal contact information will not be shared with other organizations.
I-ACT will send approximately one alert message per month on key issues when
your support is most valuable. During the Legislative session in
Springfield, typically in the late Spring, messages may be slightly more
frequent as many key issues are decided then.
Key issues in 2001 will include curbing urban sprawl, closing the loophole
in the Clean Air Act for dirty coal plants in Illinois, and acting on
Illinois Smart Growth Task Force proposals.
