On February 7th, David Green spoke to at Gregory Hall on the UIUC campus. Thanks to the editing and programming help of Randall Cotton, part of this talk will be aired on WEFT, 90.1 FM, Monday, April 18th, at 6 p.m. |
This talk addresses the problem of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim racism on the U of I campus, and contrasts the silence surrounding this issue to Interim Chancellor Herman's public response after an anti-Semitic stereotype appeared in a Daily Illini comic. Leaders of the Jewish Federation of Urbana-Champaign are criticized for their demonization of a Muslim DI columnist, and for their silent consent to the blatant racism promoted by the student group Illinipac and Jewish DI columnists. |
