31st ANNUAL PEACE BAZAAR |
Saturday, December 1st
PEACE BAZAAR. 31st annual Peace Bazaar, 9am-3pm, December 1st, at the Community United Church of Christ, 805 S. Fifth St.(corner of Sixth and Daniel, Champaign). Bazaar features house plants, ceramics, pictures, kitchen appliances and cookware, gift items and homemade breads, pies, cookies and cakes. Cards calendars and gifts from UNICEF will also be available. Sponsored by the Friends Meeting and Community United Church of Christ. All proceeds go to local and international agencies which promote peace and social justice. Local programs include: BOAST Academy After-School Program, Champaign, Eastern IL Foodbank, Urbana, Empty Tomb, Champaign. International programs include: Oxfam America, Relif for Afghan Childern through UNICEF, Church World Service landmine eradication program. Items for donation may be droped off at the Church, Friday, November 30 from 10am-4pm, and 6pm-9pm.
