Two new groups have affiliated with the Champaign County Living Wage Association's campaign to implement Living Wage ordinances in our county. |
St. Jude Catholic Worker House of Champaign and St. Boniface Catholic Church of Seymour are the two latest supporters to join the CCLWA in calling on units of government in Champaign County to implement Living Wage ordinances when public funds are spent.
They join nearly 40 other churches, community groups, and unions who are a part of the local Living Wage campaign. The CCLWA meets the third Saturday of the month (for instance, this Saturday, March 17) at noon, on the second floor above Pard's Western Shop (306 N. Maple, Urbana - behind Schnucks and across the RR tracks) in the Illinois Education Association offices. We invite all those interested to attend our meetings. For further information check our website. |
