Great news everybody!
We won!!!! |
The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign student government will switch over from winner-take-all to proportional representation for the legislature and instant runoff voting for the executives.
The results are:
3,640 Yes
1,187 No
Note that there were no candidate elections on the ballot, so all the turnout came for the referenda (there was also a bonding measure on the ballot). This is fairly high turnout for the campus, compared to past elections.
Check out www.isg.uiuc.edu for the referendum details; they'll try to post results in the next day or so.
