UCIMC hosts documentary video screening |

Sunday February 27th from 7-10pm the UCIMC Video Group is hosting an evening of documentary videos in the IMC Gallery. |
Video selection includes-
"Two Trevors Go To Washington"--Two South Africans go to the April 2000 World
Bank/WTO meetings in DC... one is on the inside attending the meetings, while
the other is on the outside protesting.
"Reclaiming Quechua Culture:--IMCsta Dave Berliner put together this short video on the Peruvian indigenous community's struggle to preserve their Quechua language and culture.
"Crashing the VIP Room"--A conversation with Rick from Vrije Keyser Televisie
(VKTV) in Amsterdam about squatting, vedeo activism, and thier squatter-run
pirate television station.
"The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"--Two Irish filmmakers go to Venezuela to
interview Hugo Chavez. By coincidence they are in the presidential palace the
very moment he is forcibly deposed in the attempted coup.
With cameras running they get all the action as the palace changes hands, and government, three times in a tense 48 hrs, and Chavez is eventually returned to power. |
