Paul Wisovaty, a veteran from Tuscola, Illinois, and a member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War spoke out against US military action during an anti-war rally on the Univeristy of Illinois quad today. Wisovaty recalled the killing of civilians in Vietnam, saying, "What bothered me was that some people found the killing of civilians at My Lai OK. Today, polls say that forty to sixty percent of Americans say they think the US should retaliate, even if we kill civilians. It's worrisome that people feel that killing civilians is acceptable." |
