Roe v. Wade Anniversary Calendar of Events
Friday 1/21
Noon - Rally at Anniversary Plaza (Quad)
Speakers include members of local womenç—´ organizations as well as Illinois State Representative Naomi Jakobssen. Alternate location is Illini Room A, in the Union.
6-9pm- Wine Tasting at The Corkscrew Wine Emporium. The Corkscrew Wine Emporium, located in Urbana on 203 North Vine, will host a wine tasting- ages 21 and over only. Wines from the southern hemisphere will be sold by the glass for tasting, with prices ranging from $5-10 a glass. There will also be unique microbrewed beers available for $3 each. All proceeds will go to the Champaign County and UIUC Chapters of the National Organization for Women.
7-9pm - Snacks and Movie at University YMCA
We will be showing "If These Walls Could Talk," (1996, dirs. Cher, Nancy Savoca) a film that tells the stories of three women and abortions both before and after Roe v Wade. The screening will be free, and snacks will be provided It will take place in the Latzer room of the University YMCA, 1001 South Wright, Champaign.

11-Noon - Workshop at Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood of East Central Illinois, located in Champaign on 302 East Stoughton, will host a free one hour workshop. Pam Sutherland of the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council will run this workshop, which will cover current legislation issues and where reproductive rights are headed over the next 4 years. You can register for this workshop at any of Friday's events, but pre-registration is not required.
8-11pm - Rockshow at Caffe Paradiso
Several local acoustic female artists have volunteered their time for this benefit concert. This show is sponsored by the Women's Booking Collective and is all ages, as all their shows are. Admission is a sliding scale of $3-15, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. You can have a light dinner and delectable dessert at Caffe Paradiso, located on Lincoln and Nevada in Urbana, while listening to the music of local artisits Kate Hathaway, Hanna, Karina, Sarah Lazare, and Sooz, as well as visiting singer/songwriter Sara Lucas. All proceeds will go to the Planned Parenthood Abortion Fund.
