December 9 from 7 – 10pm at OPENSOURCE headquarters in north
downtown Champaign at the corner of Neil and Washington
Streets (12 E. Washington St.). The screening will feature
films by 4 nationally-recognized independent filmmakers:

Stephanie Gray, selected Super8 short films (on vhs) -

Jason Massot, “Seafarers” featuring a score by Will Oldham
(on vhs) - http://www.jasonmassot.com/
These films about place each share a loose affinity for
exploring through the medium of film and sound the
characteristics that make places unique (or not) and how
aspects of a locations or sites become organized by human
interpretation and activity into indentifiable spaces.
The public is encouraged to visit the website for
information on hours of operation and detailed directions:
http://opensource.boxwith.com. The Screening is free and
open to the public, but donations are appreciated to help
support operating costs and the work of the filmmakers.
OPEN SOURCE is an alternative art space accommodating a
variety of non-traditional, community-oriented art projects
and events within Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Using our
current location as a home base, we intend to host and
support a diversity of projects: artists' workshops and
lectures; short-term art exhibitions and events by local,
regional, and national artists; and arts-based community
outreach activities.
