NATIONAL CALL IN DAY AGAINST FAST TRACK Republican Representative Bill Thomas is gearing up a vile effort to manipulate the September 11 attack and crisis to ram Fast Track through Congress. Thomas seeks to exploit the calls to "support the President" and "to show a united front." In the process, Thomas would hand the president near-total power to negotiate corporate-centered free trade agreements.
WE NEED TO STOP THIS EFFORT BEFORE IT CAN TAKE ON ANY LIFE OF ITS OWN and make it abundantly clear that WE CARE ENORMOUSLY ABOUT THE FAST TRACK VOTE.
WE KNOW IT WILL DECIDE THE NEXT DECADE OF U.S. POLICY ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND WE INSIST THAT IT GETS A FAIR HEARING, NOT A JAM-THROUGH AT A TIME OF NATIONAL MOURNING!
