Announcement :: Protest Activity
Nov 2 protest events? Current rating: 0
29 Oct 2004
Anyone know of plans for protest events in Champaign-Urbana on the night of November 2 (or whenver the results are in) if we're stuck with four more years? If I can't find anything better, I guess I'll just head to campus and see what's going on there.

I also wonder if George already has plans drawn up for pacifying and suppressing the populace if he wins. The administration doesn't seem to be much into planning, but the likelihood of domestic civil unrest may be one contingency these people haven't failed to consider.

I suppose if George were asked if he had such plans, he would say something along the lines of, "No, there are no plans on my desk for instating martial law." Such a response, however, would not be satisfying.

As detailed by Bob Woodward in "Plan of Attack," George stated on several occassions during 2002 that there were no plans on his desk for invading Iraq. This was literally true. The plans were not on his desk. Nor were they up his ass. Rather, they were somewhere else. The old Iraq war plans from Desert Storm were being revised as early as December 2001 and throughout 2002. So there were war plans being devised for Iraq, but the devising was being done elsewhere than on George's desk. Who knew? George just used language that any ordinary person would interpret figuratively, literally. It's an interesting method of evading honesty and dishonesty at the same time.

Bush re-election would be the very serious disaster for the country and the world. It seems that each one in its place should do his/her best to avoid this re-election. This , probably, covers it all for now!
