Is www.indymedia.org experiencing DOS attack? |
This morning I saw an article questioning the authenticity of mass media reports
from the US especially, and now all of a sudden I am not able to access any of
the indymedia websites that might have that article posted!
Can anyone else confirm this DOS (denial of service) attack? |
Not likely an attack |

As a previous poster noted, the main Indymedia server site in Seattle has had major problems, many of them since the Genoa protests two months ago.
Maintaining the software that runs Indymedia sites has turned out to be more difficult as new sites are added. When overall web traffic goes up, so do problems.
Although it's tempting to conclude that these service outages are due to an attack over something posted to IMC, this is usually one of the less likely reasons.
Urbana IMC Tech will check with global to see if anyone can give us a better explanation (if they even have time). |
