Godzilla- Monster of Mass Destruction!
This Thursday marks the last day that the original, uncut Japanese version of Godzilla plays in the Champaign-Urbana area. Never before seen by American audiences, this version of Godzilla marks its 50th anniversary in theatres. This undubbed, uncut version has been hailed by critics around the world for exposing the significant differences in content [and censorship] that has permeated the film industry and international politics for half of a century. Come celebrate the film classic, Godzilla, in its un-censored and unapologetic true form. Its symbolism is as radical and relevant today as it was during its original release in 1954.
Showing at Boardman's Art Theatre through Thursday [10/14] at 5:30pm only. |
