As right now though Bush reelection presents the very real threat of nuclear conflict, the polls are somehow (very unreasonably) still close. I want, therefore, to place here my translation of the famous song of the Russian poet -singer A. Gorodnizky, which has the name above.
So below is the illustration and my translation of this song.
I hope that the readers would be reminded by this song that the safety of this planet is THE MAIN ISSUE of the oncoming election. Bush's reelection is the very essential threat to this safety, as his term has shown, especially because he is so interested to revitalize Los Alamos nuclear facility to produce small precisely aimed nuclear warheads, and seems to be very capable of using them.. |
If soul is hurt for years
And heart like heavy stone,
Come to Hermitage entrance
In day's twilight alone.
There 're without food and water
Forgotten by alarms
Atlases carry sky vault
By their strongest arms.
Atlases carry sky vault
By their strongest arms.
To carry entire sky vault
Not easy task at all !
All their muscles are sore
And shoulders stuck to wall.
This job should be admired
Respected above all.
If one of them gets tired,
The sky would down fall.
If one of them gets tired,
The sky would down fall.
We know it could be real
We've heard from any source
Giant mushroom would appear
And finished would be earth
And sky vault 's in vibration
We all have pray to Luck
In the anticipation
Of nuclear attack.
In the anticipation
Of nuclear attack.
And so stand these titans
Their bodies - like art gift,
And someone back in Athens
Forgot to send new shift.
They can't look around
They can't enjoy white nights
They've heard all war sounds,
They were injured by grenades.
They've heard all war sounds,
They were injured by grenades.
They have been stood for ages
Reliable as rocks.
Not gods in their rages,
But humans in hard work.
And we still live in hopes
Neglecting some alarms
While Titans keep this vault
On their stone arms.
While Titans keep this vault
On their stone arms.
