What exactly is a UCIMC Library Hoedown?
The American Heritage Dictionary defines a hoedown as:
1. A square dance
2. The music for a square dance.
3. A social gathering at which square dancing takes place.
The UCIMC Librarians define a "library hoedown" as a day filled with the joy and happiness of organizing and weeding our wonderful progressive/radical collection of books, zines, audio/visual materials, and magazines!
If you've been to the IMC over the past year, you've probably noticed that our collection has grown tremendously. In order to maintain an up-to-date and relevent collection of books, videos, zines, and magazines, librarians are CALLING ON ALL LIBRARY SUPPORTERS, AVID READERS, PROGRESSIVE ORGANIZERS, and yes, SQUARE DANCERS to take some time out of their busy day on Sunday to come together for the funnest library organizing event of the year!
Can you only come for a couple hours? one hour? GREAT! Any help we can get would be much appreciated... We don't want you to miss out on any of the fun!
Don't miss it!

The U-C IMC Library is a non-profit volunteer collective that supports the information needs of IMC media creators and the community at large.
