Colleen reports on her experience being arrested, jailed and released during the protests of the RNC in NYC. She was arrested in a mass arrest on August 31 while marching on the sidewalk during the War Resisters' League march and subsequently released after being detained for over 30 hours before being charged and released. |

You know, its really hard to
a) feel sympathetic
and
b) care about someone's cause
when one joins a crowd that intentionally provokes authorities into doing their job of protecting life, limb, and property through any and all means neccessary.
I can't feel sorry for someone who deliberately travels a great distance to the coast, stands on the shore and then complains that its the ocean's fault that they got wet. |

If Jim Mortland weren't so angry about being arrested himself, perhaps he'd find a website that was more sympathetic to his own views. |

Jim, if we were talking about violence or property destruction, I might agree with you. However, we aren't. It sounds like Colleen's "crime" may have just been standing on the wrong sidewalk at the wrong time. It was actually pretty disturbing that nobody was initially able to even tell her what she was being charged with. |
