This is one of my songs from my set of poems to 'ALICE IN THE COUNTRY BEHIND LOOKING GLASS'. I think that the acute relevance of the poem and the illustration to the current most important political events should convince the editors of this web to place this posting of mine in the current news. |

The New Song About Walrus and Carpenter
The sun was shining in the world,
And half of the world was light.
And the moon was needed, therefore,
In the parts, where was the night.
If one studies geography any more,
One would know that it is right.
The moon was shining sulkily,
As she wasn't helped by sun.
She knew that sun couldn't be free
Until the day was gone.
Her job was hard and merely
Because she had no fun!
The planet was very big indeed
With many countries on.
The sun and the moon could never meet,
And they felt, "It was wrong!",
As the planet was covered with filth and greed,
Which one would know by this song!
In current time Carpenter and Walrus
Decide to conquer the Earth.
Then the approach they need to choose
To get all world's reserves
(They have no conscience to lose
After they'd eaten before ousters).
The Carpenter is as cleric meant,
The virtue's leader of half world.
And Walrus poses as a president
Of country on the top of all.
They can now reach all ousters' lands,
Whichever are in this world!
Their technique is so simple and clean
(It blooms like nicest roses),
If president offers help, it means,-
These ousters' shores are chosen!
Carpenter blows up this country's reefs,
And all ousters get on shores!
The Carpenter gets nicely paid
(He doesn't dine on shore any more),
And Walrus puts all ousters in debt,
Protecting them thus, therefore.
There was no one method,
As sharp as this one before!
It is very witty way, of course,
But ousters or human creatures,
Who are reduced without remorse,
Start now to look for new teachers
To understand that there's no coarse,
And witty couple can still be reached! |
