Coordinated microbroadcasting hits Champaign-Urbana to bring reports from the streets of NYC and C-U as people speak out en masse against the unwelcome RNC.
Tune in during the RNC to one of the stations in the growing Free Radio Arrrgh Network: 90.5, 99.7, 104.5 FM |
A-Noise sound collective is providing a round-the-clock news and information web stream out of NYC to cover and support the thousands of protestors hitting the streets to show that the RNC and its policies of war, aggression and terror on the middle and working class are not welcome.
The Free Radio Arrrgh network will bring this sound to you on the FM dial, with three frequencies briefly occupied to create a Temporary Autonomous Zone of the airwaves: 90.5, 99.7, 104.5 FM.
These are all frequencies that go unused and unutilized, but yet are perfectly suited for a low-power microbroadcast signal to serve the neighborhoods of the twin cities. This Mosquito Fleet of free radio stations makes sure at least one signal can be heard just about anywhere in the twin cities.
Tune in for uncensored news and truth. Send e-mail reception reports and comments. |

Tune IN - We're going strong! |

All three frequencies have been going strong since last night, so anywhere within the city limits of Urbana or Champaign, you should be able to tune in the NoRNC Mosquito Fleet on 90.5 FM, 99.7 FM or 104.5 FM.
These are all micrpowered stations -- not multi-kilowatt blowtorches. Tuning in may take a little more patience -- move your radio and/or antenna around. Closer to an exterior window is a good place and car radios work well, too.
Any antenna is better than no antenna.

Not to talk about locations, but in my part of Urbana, I have one full-quieting signal; one that is a little scratchy, but very listenable; and one non-existent signal on the three frequencies mentioned. So people will find it easy to tune in and listen to the latest feeds from the streets of New York. People are calling in on their cell phones and reporting the what they see and hear over the A-Noise stream -- cool and informative. |

I'm using fairly cheap/basic radios, and I'm able to pick up 90.5 near campus (indoors), but neither of the other two. There have been what appear to be brief problems with the uplink of the feed (a looping 'technical difficulties' message) but the programming is going strong again now. Cool stuff. |
