On a side note,
Thanks to a generous $2,000 award from the Community Foundation of Champaign County, WEFT is officially kicking off a Studio Drive fundraising campaign. WEFT will rewire, replace, and renovate it's studio equipment over the next few years in three different areas.
Phase I will focus on renovating our back production studio.
Phase II will call for an overhaul of our main studio.
Phase III will address technological upgrades to our transmitter.
For now, WEFT is focusing on Phase I, and you can help! In 2004, Weft must raise $8,000 to upgrade it's back studio. The back studio must be completely rebuilt to a reliable working condition to serve as the broadcast studio before we proceed with replacing the main studio in Phase II. Plans are already being drawn up to do the work. To receive the grant, WEFT must begin construction this year. If you would like to make a donation and support WEFT community radio for champaign and urbana, you can make a check or money order out to Prarie Air Inc. and send it to
