Kissinger is part of the problem. Acting against his terrorism would be part of the solution. The press once again fails to ask the hard questions that would lead to the truth. |
Henry Kissinger is being interviewed about terrorism on CNN right now in reference to today's events. I bet they don't ask him anything about the fact that he is wanted for questioning in connection with his own terrorist past in Chile in support of US policy.
I believe that we as a nation must decide whether we wish to end the terroristic policies of the US if we don't wish to be the targets of terrorism ourselves. It does no good to dress up terror in the robes of official policy and then point the finger at the other guy. Our bombing of other countries without mercy has come home to haunt us. Our support of terrorist regimes has come home to haunt us. We can be as self-righteous as we wish to be, but it won't change the fact that the buzzards have come home to roost.
We will likely see our nation under attack from within shortly, as calls for increased "security" will no doubt lead to all sorts of hideous proposals from various politicians to restrict more of our freedoms on the name of "national security." Those that will trade freedom for comfort deserve neither. Resist this short-sighted and self-serving impulse if you value your rights and freedoms. It is surely coming. |

A particularly ironic day for Kissinger to comment on terrorism:
1973 - The CIA and Henry Kissinger help overthrow the democratically elected government of Chile, ending nearly 150 years of democratic rule. |
